Basic course in university didactics

The basic course comprises 60 work units (WU) and includes a mix of in-person and online sessions, self-study periods, and peer observations. The course is part of the HDS’s modular certificate program, which is based on the quality standards of the German Society for Higher Education Didactics and enjoys nationwide recognition.

• Location: Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, on campus and online
• Scope: 60 AE
• Duration: September 2024 through March 2025

• Preparatory assignments and kickoff meeting: September 9, 2024, through September 30, 2024
• Kickoff workshop (Zittau): October 1, 2024
• Self-study phase to prepare for microteaching: October 2, 2024, through December 2, 2024
• Microteaching Workshop (Zittau): December 3, 2024
• Self-study phase on selected key topics and role reflection: December 4, 2024, through February 3, 2025
• Final workshop (Zittau): February 4, 2025
• Learning portfolio submission: March 7, 2025
• Final Review: March 8, 2025, through March 21, 2025
