Exchange Digital Teaching HSZG (for lecturers) - Topic: Digitalization as an opportunity - Smart hybrid testing in the lecture hall
In collaboration with the Center for eLearning (zfe) and the D2C2 digitization project, which is part of the Office of the Vice President for Education and International Affairs, a program has been established in which HSZG faculty members from across all departments can share their experiences with digital teaching to promote the exchange of best practices. Each regular online meeting features a 10-minute presentation by a faculty member or a research assistant from a project with a didactic focus. Participants have the opportunity to ask specific questions of the presenters, share their own ideas, receive inspiration for their own teaching, and engage in discussion with one another.

Topic: Digitalization as an Opportunity—Smart Hybrid Exams in the Lecture Hall Using Your Own Mobile Device [Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Herrmann]
Conducting electronically supported exams offers great potential, but also presents some challenges. In the invigilated (written) examination concept presented here, the examination is administered in person (on campus) using the students’ own internet-enabled mobile devices (also known as “bring your own device”), for example in a large lecture hall. This eliminates the often-challenging task of organizing exam scenarios in computer labs, which are frequently very small. This paper presents the concept of a “HYBRID ON-CAMPUS INVIGILATED (WRITTEN) EXAMINATION” and provides insight into the organizational framework that must be considered, as well as the results from its practical application at the University of Zittau/Görlitz.
