2nd Zittau Plastics and Lightweight Construction Conference

Green and economical too? Paths to competitive decarbonization of the plastics industry.

Begin 29. January 2025 - 08:30 Uhr
End 29. January 2025 - 16:30 Uhr

Sustainability and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions are currently the focus of research and industry. The plastics industry, in particular, needs to explore new avenues to reduce environmental impacts such as marine pollution, low recycling rates, and dependence on petroleum. At the same time, however, plastics can also be key to achieving climate goals—for example, through lightweight construction, circularity, and bio-based resources.

But how can technical plastic components be manufactured in a way that is both sustainable and economically viable?

Experts from academia and industry will provide answers and practical insights at the 2nd Zittau Plastics and Lightweight Construction Conference (ZKLT) on January 29, 2025, at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. In addition to an exciting and diverse program, you can look forward to inspiring insights into the latest research findings and real-world examples from industry.

Event highlights:

  • Presentations on innovations and best-practice examples by high-profile speakers
  • Simultaneous interpretation of the presentations for guests from Poland and the Czech Republic
  • Networking with experts from Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic
  • Accompanying exhibition featuring sample components and semi-finished products
  • Guided tours of the university’s and Fraunhofer’s plastics laboratories
  • A test ride on our autonomous WALEMO shuttle

The event is free of charge, but places are limited.
