In the lectures, students benefit from an intensive, direct exchange with instructors and fellow students. Our personal academic advising service is available to assist you with advice and support throughout the entire academic year.

The entire program spans approximately 11 weekends: typically, this includes late Friday afternoon, and all day Saturday and Sunday. In addition, there is one intensive week in the winter semester and one in the summer semester (for a total of 2 weeks for the entire program)—alternating between in-person and online sessions. Students who cannot attend the in-person lecture have two options: They can attend the lecture live online (from anywhere) or watch the recorded lecture later. This is because almost all lectures are also recorded. Right at the start of the program, a detailed course schedule listing all modules and dates allows you to plan your study sessions in advance alongside

  • Successful reporting procedure

The degree programs underwent a registration process conducted by AQ Austria in accordance with Section 4(2) of the § 27 Registration Regulation 2019. You can download the positive registration decision for all degree programs here or view it on the AQ Austria website .
In the event that the AQ Austria Board revokes the accreditation decision, the degree programs may no longer be offered in Austria. The accreditation of the degree programs is valid until November 24, 2027.

The decision to accredit the degree programs does not imply a determination of equivalence with Austrian degree programs or corresponding Austrian (academic) degrees. The degree programs and (academic) degrees are considered to be those of the country of origin or the country where the institution is based (Germany).
Equivalence in higher education between Germany and Austria was already established in 2003 through a bilateral agreement.

The international standing of our degrees is also evident in the fact that our graduates are welcomed with open arms at many renowned universities abroad. Even at the elite University of Oxford, we have an IBS graduate who is pursuing a Ph.D. program at Oxford Brookes University and is already working there as a lecturer. Former IBS students can also be found at the Institut d’études politiques de Paris, which ranks among the world’s best universities in the field of politics and international studies according to the World University Rankings, or at the University of St. Gallen, one of Europe’s leading business schools.
