This year's Environment Day at the HSZG will take place on 13.11. on the Zittau campus and on 14.11. on the Görlitz campus.
Climate change, drought, bark beetle infestation, forest conversion and sustainable forest management are current buzzwords in the media.
But what exactly is happening in our forests? What is the actual situation in Saxony, in the district of Görlitz and in the Zittau municipal forest? And what prospects are there for ensuring and shaping sustainable forest management in the future?
We would like to discuss these questions and much more with you and the experts from the Saxon State Office for Environment and Geology, the Saxon Ministry for Environment and Agriculture and the Zittau forestry company.
You are cordially invited to join us and you can also look forward to the presentation of a school project on tree planting, a workshop for teachers that illustrates the forest ecosystem for work with children and primary school pupils, an exhibition, a photo exhibition on regional forest beauty and forest damage and the film "The Green Wonder - Our Forest", which uses spectacular images to show us the beauty of our forests that we would otherwise hardly notice.
You can also get active yourself on 16.11.2019 at the Eichensaht in the Zittau city forest. It starts at 9 a.m. in the spa town of Oybin, at the pottery (bus stop Oybin Talweg). Please register as one of 30 participants at forstamt(at)zittau.de - thank you very much.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved and supporters who made the 2019 Forestry Day of the Environment - a joint project of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences and Zittau City Council - possible!
The event is open to the public and free of charge. The program flyer, further information and possible changes can be found on the homepage: www.hszg.de/tdu. Please contact Mr. Eric Schön by e-mail: e.schoen(at)hszg.de.
