"MyHSZG" - always and everywhere!
With the new Campus App, students and members of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences can easily organize their lives at and with the HSZG.
In an era of increasing digitalization of higher education, campus apps have established themselves in recent years as indispensable tools for university students and staff. Whether it’s checking your own class schedule, viewing exam results, getting the latest information, or looking at the menu from the student canteen, a campus app often proves to be much more than just an app on a device.
Now it’s here: our “MyHSZG” campus app! “Starting with the new academic year, it will undoubtedly enrich the student life of our students and the work life of all university members,” Lars Rönisch is certain. Together with Kerstin Korb (Office of the Chancellor), the director of the University Data Centre presented the idea for its introduction to the university’s Rector, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, in February of this year.
"I was convinced and approved the development and implementation for the 2023–24 winter semester," said the Rector. He deliberately chose an agile project approach in order, on the one hand, to achieve success quickly and, on the other hand, to test this type of project approach at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Within just a few months, the project team succeeded. The “MyHSZG” campus app was officially launched at the enrolment ceremony. “I am very grateful to the project team—Lars Rönisch and Kerstin Korb—and to all our supporters, ” Prof. Kratzsch concluded.
The app can do a lot! Whether it’s up-to-date information in the form of campus updates, news, or event announcements; access to class schedules, grade overviews, and emails; or a look at the daily menu at the student canteens. Key features are provided via a mobile interface designed to meet the needs of both students and university staff. The app can be downloaded for free at any time.
Starting this academic year, Zittau/Görlitz University has its own campus app. I’m very proud of that. Through this campus app, our students can manage every aspect of their student life and connect with and stay in touch with their fellow students and their faculty. It’s a tremendous asset.
