At the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management is seeking to fill a 0.5 FTE (20 hours/week) fixed-term position effective March 1, 2026, for the

to cover for a professorship in Business Administration, specifically Production Management and Logistics (W2)—Reference Number: WB-113V—

for the duration of the incumbent’s leave of absence, but no later than February 28, 2030.

The position holder specializes in “Business Administration, particularly Production Management and Logistics,” with a focus on the following areas:

  • General business studies covering all stages of a company’s value chain,
  • Digital technologies & application-oriented process and project management, AI applications in business processes,
  • Operational and strategic production and logistics management, production planning and control, including associated software for simulation and implementation, lean management,
  • Production Control / Industrial Management, Materials Management, and Supply Chain Management.

These topics must be covered in lectures, seminars, exercises, internships, and projects, as well as in continuing education programs. The candidate is expected to have the ability and willingness to familiarize themselves with and teach other fields related to their area of specialization. The teaching units must be guaranteed university-wide. Classes / courses may also be taught in English as needed. Furthermore, the ability and willingness to participate in interdisciplinary, practice-oriented, and internship-related teaching units are required.

If necessary, the candidate must be willing to teach classes / courses related to the field of specialization.

In addition, the candidate is expected to actively contribute to the internationalization of the university and the further development of the department, as well as to assume responsibilities in academic self-governance. Furthermore, commitment to applied research projects and to technology and knowledge transfer is expected.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • a successfully completed academic degree related to the aforementioned field,
  • a demonstrated aptitude for academic research,
  • experience in applied research and knowledge transfer,
  • ideally, teaching experience at the university level or in continuing education.
  • In filling this position, particular emphasis is placed on practical experience.
