The position involves serving as a substitute for the aforementioned professorship in teaching and research, with a particular focus on the following areas:

• Theories, concepts, methods, and professional development in the field of special education and inclusive education,
• Special education and inclusive education practices across developmental areas and stages,
• Participation-oriented assessment and/or teaching methods in the context of special education and inclusion pedagogy.

To meet the teaching requirements of the Special Needs Education/Inclusion Studies degree programme, knowledge and experience in fields such as Special Needs Education, integration support, and inclusive education are desirable.

The successful candidate (m/f/d) is expected to teach not only classes / courses related to the aforementioned areas of focus but also other foundational courses within the degree programme. Teaching responsibilities include lectures, seminars, tutorials, internships, and projects. If necessary, the incumbent may be required to teach classes / courses in areas related to the field of appointment.

The following knowledge and skills are required

• a successfully completed academic degree, preferably in therapeutic, rehabilitation, special needs education; inclusive education; Social Work; or closely related fields,
• demonstrated pedagogical aptitude in teaching or training at the university level, as well as relevant teaching experience—preferably at a university of applied sciences and in the field of the professorship’s focus—
• a demonstrable connection between the candidate’s professional career and the content and responsibilities of the professorship, practical experience relevant to the content and responsibilities of the professorship, particularly practical experience in the fields of Special Needs Education,
• a particular aptitude for scholarly work, typically demonstrated by the quality of a doctoral dissertation,
• Experience in applied research and knowledge transfer,
• the ability and willingness to teach in English as well.

• to independently carry out research and development tasks in your field of appointment,
• active participation in the internationalization of the university and the further development of the department,
• collaboration on the university’s research priorities and knowledge transfer projects, in particular participation in the university’s Third Mission,
• ideally, experience in the design, establishment, and accreditation of degree programmes, as well as in securing external funding,
• Assumption of responsibilities related to academic self-governance.
