HSZG world of experience on 340 square meters
At the INSIDERTREFF 2024, the HSZG scores with a wide range of products and a rally competition.
Good advice, hands-on experience, and rally adventures! At this year’s INSIDERTREFF on May 25, 2024, at the Löbau Trade Fair and Event Park, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences once again impressed approximately 4,000 guests with a 340-square-meter booth and a wide range of offerings.
For the first time, a university rally was held, offering participants the chance to win great prizes ranging from a brand-new HSZG Dopper bottle to a classic mug. To enter, participants had to answer questions at a terminal located at several booths. It was a lot of fun, and participants also gained valuable insights into the university’s wide range of degree programs.
At the HSZG’s large-scale booth, visitors had the opportunity to learn in detail about the various degree programs and offerings, but above all to “get hands-on” and experience research firsthand. For example, they immersed themselves in virtual reality using VR goggles and discovered all the possibilities it offers. Things took a criminological turn at the biotechnology booth: Here, a swab of the oral mucosa was used to demonstrate how DNA traces are analyzed at crime scenes. At the AI demonstrator, visitors could put the AI to the test and see how it identifies objects and what technology underpins the entire system. For those more interested in the social sciences, the event offered insights into how measures for inclusion and accessibility can be put into practice. The “Hello Mirrors” health mirrors invited visitors to learn more about the topic of active care.
INSIDERTREFF, a career and education fair, offers an excellent platform for introducing prospective students to the diverse academic opportunities and innovative projects at HSZG.
Together with District Administrator Dr. Stephan Meyer, the Rector of HSZG, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, visited the “HSZG Experience World” in the flower hall of the convention center. During his visit, District Administrator Meyer emphasized that he thought it was great that various degree programmes were grouped by theme and presented at the HSZG booth. In his opinion, prospective students base their decisions on topics rather than on individual degree programmes.
In addition to the diverse offerings in the Blumenhalle, the HSZG was located in Exhibition Hall 2 with its dual study programs, right next to its many KIA partner companies, to introduce the cooperative study program with integrated training to the general public. Anyone looking to get some exercise while moving between the exhibition halls could also stop by the university sports booth in front of the Blumenhalle to play a game of table tennis or relax in a comfortable lounge chair and take in the day’s events.
The HSZG’s Student Advisory Service offered individual consultations on choosing a program of study and the application process. Experts provided information about the newly planned degree programmes in the field of teacher education. In addition to the degree programmes, applications for career opportunities at HSZG were made for the first time. Visitors could learn about current job openings on site and ask specific questions. “From the Student Advisory Service to the professors and other booth staff, right on up to the university’s social media team, everyone was on hand to offer advice and support to interested visitors and answer all questions about studying at HSZG. They all deserve our heartfelt thanks, ” said Rector Alexander Kratzsch.
