Until June 2025, the Lusatia - Life & Technology Alliance (L&T) will receive EUR 6.7 million in funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research for projects in the Upper Lusatia region.
In order to offer new perspectives, solutions and innovative technologies for the Upper Lusatia region, the advisory board of the Lusatia - Life & Technology Alliance (L&T) met on 4 June 2020. As part of the advisory board meeting, five applicants presented their project outlines for one of the four innovation areas of the alliance: networked energy systems through storage technologies, additive manufacturing for more efficient production, non-formal regional education and attractive living and working spaces. By June 2025, the alliance will be able to finance EUR 6.7 million for projects in the Upper Lusatia region in these innovation areas through the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The Lusatia - Life & Technology Alliance pursues the clear goal of strengthening the economic power of the three-country region. 50 partners from companies, universities, research institutions and civil society organizations from Upper Lusatia are working closely together and exchanging ideas. The two technology fields of additive manufacturing and storage technologies are viable for the future in order to boost the local economy. At the same time, a modern and diverse range of (further) training courses is intended to counteract the current and future shortage of skilled workers. Thanks to Lusatia's central location in the border triangle of Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany and the historical connections that have grown from this, L&T receives supra-regional and international support.
