    Please note that due to the limited teaching capacity within the framework of foreign language training, the range of languages on offer may have to be restricted and not all courses can be offered. There is no legal entitlement to courses in a particular foreign language/level.

  • Electrical engineering & Computer science

    Automation and Mechatronics (Bachelor's/Diploma)
    In the fifth semester, you have the opportunity to take a language course within the module <interdisciplinary skills> 275950. Enrolment is expected to take place in the fourth semester.

    Electrical Energy Systems (Bachelor/Diploma)
    In the fifth semester, you have the opportunity to take a language course within the module <Interdisciplinary Skills> 275950. Enrolment is expected to take place in the fourth semester.

    Computer Science (Bachelor/Master)
    You must take the modules <English for Computer Scientists I and II> 127600 and 127650 in the second and third semesters. (You will be informed about the time of enrollment).

    Mechatronics (Master)
    You must take <Business English> as part of the module <Business Management /Languages> 103900. (You will be informed about the time of enrollment).

    Business and Computer Science (Bachelor)
    In the first and third semester you must take the modules <English for Computer Scientists I and II> 127600 and 127650. (You will be informed about the time of enrollment).

  • Management and cultural studies

    Culture and Management (Bachelor)
    In the first semester, you must take a language course as part of the module <Foreign Language Skills> 271400. The courses on offer are: Spanish (A1), Italian (A1), Polish (A1), French (A1/2), Russian (A1), Czech (A1) or German as a foreign language B2/C1.

    In the second semester, you also have the option of continuing to take the selected language course (foreign language skills 263950)
    You also have the option of taking the optional language course <Business English B2> in the first semester, provided there is capacity in the course. Please refer to the timetable of WGb21 for the course times and contact the lecturer listed there.

    Culture and Management (Master)
    You have the opportunity to take an optional language course as part of the module <Foreign Language Skills> 263950, provided there is capacity in the course of your choice. The following courses are available: English (C1), Spanish (A1 and A2), Italian (A1 and A2), Polish (A1 and A2), French (A1/2), Russian (A1), Czech (A1) or German as a foreign language (B2/C1).

    Management in Health Care (Bachelor)
    In the first semester, you must take the module <Business English for Health Care Management> 272150.
    You can also take a language within the module <Interdisciplinary Skills> 261800 in the third semester. You will be enrolled for this later.

    Management in Health Care (Master)
    No language training is provided for this degree program.

    Tourism Management (Bachelor)
    You must take a language course in the first semester. The courses on offer are: Spanish (A1), Polish (A1) or Italian (A1).

    In the second semester, you can also take an optional language module, either Spanish (A2), Italian (A2), Polish (A2) or Business English (B2). Enrolment takes place during the winter semester.

    In the third semester, you must take the language module <English for Tourism Management> 226900. You will be enrolled for this in the run-up to the course.

    In the fifth semester, you can take the optional language module <Advanced English C1> 201300. You must enrol for this in advance of the course.

    International Tourism Management (Master)
    In the first semester, you can optionally take the <Advanced English C1> 201300 language module.

    Business Translation German/Polish (Master)
    The Language Center does not offer any additional language modules for your degree course.

    International Business Communication (Bachelor)
    In the second semester, you have the opportunity to take a language course within the module <Interdisciplinary Skills> 261800. Enrolment takes place in advance of the course.

  • Mechanical engineering

    In the sixth semester, all M students have the opportunity to take a language within the module <interdisciplinary skills> 261800. Enrolment takes place in advance of the course.

  • Natural and environmental sciences

    Applied Natural Sciences (Bachelor)
    You must take the language module <English for Natural Sciences> 213500 in the first semester.

    Molecular Biotechnology (Bachelor)
    You must take the language module <English for Natural Sciences> 213500 in the first semester.

    Ecology and Environmental Protection (Bachelor)
    In the first semester, you must take the language module <English for Natural Sciences_Advanced Course> 213500 or <English for Natural Sciences_Basic Course> 229250. A placement test will determine which course you take. You will be informed of this in the first week of the semester.

    Biotechnology and Applied Ecology (Master)
    No language training is provided for this degree course.

    Integrated Management / Integrated Management Systems (Master)
    No language training is provided for this degree program.

    Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Master)
    No language training is provided for this degree program.

  • Social sciences

    Curative Education / Inclusion Studies (Bachelor)
    You have the opportunity to take an optional language course, provided there is capacity in the course of your choice.
