PerspektiveArbeit Lausitz (PAL)

Term

01.10.2023–31.10.2026

The PerspektiveArbeit Lausitz (PAL) project combines the expertise of interdisciplinary teams from occupational research and engineering sciences from five universities and 27 companies and associations from Saxony and Brandenburg. The aim of the project is to make the world of work in Lausitz more efficient, attractive and healthy through the use of data-based assistance systems.

HSZG sub-project: "Personnel development with the support of AI assistance systems / digital twins"

As part of the sub-project of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG), the use of AI assistance systems and digital twins in personnel development is being investigated and promoted. These technologies offer tailored learning programs, automated feedback mechanisms and real-time support, enabling companies to increase productivity and reduce costs.

By using small, efficient AI models, it is possible to implement specialized solutions locally at low cost and in compliance with data protection regulations. Such models are powerful and adaptable to the specific needs of a company. In addition, multimodal AI systems improve interaction, for example by analysing visual data in production processes, which leads to optimized workflows and a better use of resources.

Particular attention is being paid to the implementation of these technological innovations in existing operational processes. Studies show that only 5% of such implementations are successful. For this reason, the sub-project is pursuing an ergonomic approach which, in contrast to previous solutions, first takes into account the framework conditions of the existing company organization. This creates a tailor-made basis for the development of competence requirements in dealing with AI assistance systems in order to ensure the successful implementation of new digital technologies in the company.
