HDS Workshop: Teaching through Making - Designing learning spaces in the university makerspace

The one-day workshop is aimed at teachers - especially from STEM subjects - who want to tap into the potential of makerspaces for teaching, learning and creative knowledge acquisition.

What

The one-day workshop is aimed at teachers - especially from STEM subjects - who want to tap into the potential of makerspaces for teaching, learning and creative knowledge acquisition. The aim is to jointly explore the conditions for the didactically meaningful use of making, to gain initial practical experience with digital tools (e.g. 3D printing, laser cutting) and to develop concrete transfer ideas for your own teaching.

After a practical introduction with a guided tour of the workshop, participants will reflect on the didactic possibilities of making from their respective subject perspective. Simple models are created and tested. Finally, application scenarios in teaching and the curriculum are discussed - for example in the context of project work, coursework or experimental phases.
