Greetings and advice from the faculty management for the winter semester at the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies.
Dear students, we are delighted to welcome you back to the HSZG this winter semester. After the past summer semester took place exclusively online, we are now looking forward to starting our hybrid winter semester. This means that we will no longer only see each other on screens, but also in small groups in person again. We are particularly looking forward to this, as the summer semester has shown how important personal interaction and social contact and exchange is for students and lecturers alike.
From this semester onwards, we will be using the BigBlueButton web conferencing system for our online classes / courses, which will be used for the majority of lectures. All modules will be mapped via the OPAL learning platform this semester. This will be used for the organization and data management of every module offered at the Faculty.

In order to be able to guarantee face-to-face teaching and a smooth process, we refer to the applicable hygiene measures for health protection. This includes keeping the minimum distance or alternatively wearing a mouth and nose cover if this cannot be guaranteed. We also ask that you only stay on the HSZG premises to attend face-to-face events or agreed appointments. The seminar rooms in building G IV have been set up in accordance with the guidelines. Corresponding notices can be found on the door to each seminar room. Please ensure that you comply with the guidelines yourself.

Of course, there are also some new things for all of us to consider this semester. From 19.10.2020, first-semester students will have the opportunity to get to know each other during the induction week. From 26.10.2020, the regular classes / courses will then start, which will primarily be held in person. However, teaching for all other semesters will mainly take place online. Where possible and particularly important, face-to-face events are also planned here. You can find out in which form the individual modules will take place in your timetables.

With this in mind, we wish you a good start and every success for the coming semester. If you have any questions or problems, please do not hesitate to contact your module coordinator.
