At the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz (HSZG), Center for Knowledge Transfer and Education (ZWB), a full-time position (40 hours/week) is available at the earliest possible date as

Project Manager (m/f/d) - Keyword: PMO -

to be filled for a limited period until 30.06.2026.

The HSZG has set itself the goal of making a significant contribution to promoting future-oriented, regional development with the Oberlausitz Future Learning Location (ZUKLOS). The aim is to develop and establish diverse, innovative central, decentralized and mobile learning locations in the extracurricular area as well as action-oriented offers. The focus is particularly on the individual promotion of STEM skills among young people aged 13 to 20 as well as a cross-generational approach to extracurricular project work. The HSZG receives extensive financial support for the implementation of this project from the assets of political parties and mass organizations of the GDR (PMO) by the Free State of Saxony.

The job holder (m/f/d) has the following tasks in particular:

  • Project planning -development and implementation based on the recommendations for action of the interdisciplinary core group ZUKLOS under the direction of the Prorectorate Education and International Affairs and in close cooperation with the faculties, research institutes and the University Administration,
  • New establishment of extracurricular educational venues, particularly in the STEM field, as well as communication and coordination of cooperation between internal stakeholders,
  • Preparation and updating of detailed and mathematically substantiated expenditure planning, including optimization of the STEM education chain from school to the transition to vocational training or studies,
  • Estimating follow-up costs and planning medium-term costs for the next 5 years,
  • Risk management for permanent facilities and operations: preparation of risk information for management decisions,
  • Financial controlling: budget monitoring, expenditure planning, etc.,
  • Procurement of material goods in accordance with the applicable purchasing and procurement guidelines and in close coordination with the technical administration,
  • Project documentation, controlling and evaluation as well as reporting.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Successfully completed university degree, preferably in business, administration and/or STEM subjects,
  • A penchant for extracurricular learning, e.g. through involvement and work in school labs, fablabs, makerspaces, science centers, experimental sites,
  • Knowledge of extracurricular learning locations in Eastern Saxony and Germany,
  • Experience in setting up and coordinating networks with various partners from business, science and educational institutions,
  • experience in the coordination of third-party funded projects,
  • conceptual, analytical and communicative skills.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Several years of experience in project management at universities,
  • Knowledge of the educational landscape of Upper Lusatia,
  • knowledge of foreign languages,
  • Involvement in the community (e.g. in associations, fire department),
  • experience and knowledge of administrative business processes at a university and
  • experience in the creation of texts, presentations and publications.

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 12 TV-L.
