At the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the Center for Knowledge Transfer and Education (ZWB), which is affiliated to the Vice-Rectorate for Education and International Affairs, a full-time position (40 hours/week) is available as part of the joint project "studienerfolg@saxHAW" funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) at the earliest possible date as a

to be filled for a limited period until 31.03.2026 .

The five Saxon universities of applied sciences (HAW) - Leipzig, Dresden, Mittweida, Zittau-Görlitz and Zwickau - are working together to implement the innovative project "studienerfolg@saxHAW". The aim is to increase student success and counteract the expected shortage of skilled workers on the (Saxon) job market. At the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, various study success measures are planned and implemented along the student life cycle and in cooperation with the structural units during the project period.

The HSZG plans to offer innovative teaching/learning settings specifically for newly enrolled students. The project aims to support first-semester students with innovative digital measures outside the lecture hall, such as augmented reality, virtual reality and geocaching apps. These promote professional and social skills and take into account regional and cultural aspects in Zittau/Görlitz. The aim is to reduce drop-out rates and provide students with a strong foundation for their studies. Suitable formats and content will be designed and tested with a reference faculty in order to promote strong regional ties and an increased sense of self-efficacy.

The position includes the following tasks in particular:

  • Developing and implementing innovative teaching-learning formats with a focus on digital technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality and geocaching apps,
  • Planning and implementing pilot projects in collaboration with a reference faculty to test and evaluate the effectiveness of the new measures,
  • Identifying the needs and expectations of the target group by working closely with various faculties, lecturers and students,
  • Continuous monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of the new measures and to promote the self-efficacy/self-confidence of the students as well as continuous further development of the new teaching-learning formats on this basis,
  • Development of training and workshop concepts for the introduction of the new teaching-learning formats and their implementation,
  • Preparation of reports and presentations to document the progress and results of the project.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed academic university degree,
  • experience with digital teaching-learning technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality and the implementation of innovative teaching-learning formats using digital technologies,
  • Understanding of pedagogical concepts and methods and the ability to develop teaching-learning formats that effectively support students' needs and learning objectives,
  • Ability to develop creative solutions and pursue innovative approaches to education,
  • Flexibility and resilience in a dynamically evolving project environment,
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders in an appropriate manner.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Professional experience in higher education or in the school sector,
  • Pedagogy or didactic skills,
  • Knowledge and experience in project management,
  • a working knowledge of English.

If the personal and professional requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L. The 1st place of work is Zittau.
