At the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, within the framework of the project KI4WA - AI technologies as assistance for the knowledge worker - funded by the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Culture and Tourism (SMWK), a position (40 hours/week) is available from 01.08.2024 as a

Research assistant (m/f/d) F&E in knowledge work/AI

- Reference: 38-2024 KI4WA    -

to be filled for a limited period until 31.12.2024.

The job holder has the following tasks in particular:

  • Research and development work on knowledge work software, with a focus on interactive visual representation of information,
  • programming and
  • development of concepts for the representation of knowledge and the use of artificial intelligence.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Scientific university degree with reference to the above-mentioned field of activity,
  • experience in backend and frontend development,
  • at least two backend languages such as Java, Python, Golang, etc.,
  • Frontend languages: HTML, CSS and Javascript,
  • in-depth knowledge in the field of machine learning and deep learning,
  • Confident handling of PyTorch and TensorFlow,
  • very good understanding of large language models, especially in implementation and modification,
  • Confident handling of databases and database management systems,
  • Setup and maintenance of server and cloud systems (e.g. AWS),
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, etc.,
  • Language skills: German/English fluent.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Publications in the field of data science and interest in further research contributions.
