We are saddened to announce the death of Julia Renger.
We are saddened to announce that our long-time colleague and university lecturer Julia Renger has passed away. She passed away far too early on February 18, 2021, after bravely enduring an illness.
With Ms. Renger, we have lost a valued colleague and dedicated employee who was committed to the university beyond the boundaries of her faculty. The graduate mathematician worked as a laboratory engineer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. She was particularly appreciated by colleagues for her diligent and reliable work, which she carried out in the background as a programmer with great expertise, but also for her respectful and friendly approach to everyone. She always had an open ear for students' questions. In her lectures, she was able to explain even complicated subjects in an understandable way thanks to her logical approach and didactic skills.
As a representative for severely disabled people, she campaigned for their interests at the university for many years and also participated in a number of appointment procedures in this capacity.
We mourn the loss of an open and committed colleague who was admired for her fighting spirit and human qualities. We keep her in honorable memory.
Our condolences go to her family and relatives.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch, Rector and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Worlitz, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
