In the video, the Rector talks about the plans for the start of the coming winter semester 2021/22.
A summer semester 2021 dominated by the pandemic is coming to an end. Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is now looking forward to welcoming new students to its lecture halls and laboratories from the coming winter semester 2021/2022. Because from fall onwards, teaching will be planned in full presence again!
"As the Rectorate, we are fully aware that there are uncertainties among young first-year students" says Rector Prof. Dr. Kratzsch.
These are questions such as: Is it only possible to get to know professors and fellow students virtually? Do courses only take place online or can I also experience campus life up close? Is it worth looking for a room in a shared flat or a place in a hall of residence in Zittau or Görlitz?
In the video, the Rector provides answers and addresses first-year students starting their new phase of life at our university directly, as well as our students who have only experienced hybrid and online teaching over the past three semesters due to the pandemic.
Although this has worked very well, the Rector is convinced "that the success of a course of study also and above all depends on social and human contact". And so everything is being done to enable students to study in person. Even if no one can currently predict what the pandemic situation will look like in the fall.
All important information about the measures in connection with the corona pandemic can be found on the HSZG's Corona information portal.
"On behalf of the Rectorate, I would like to thank all teaching staff, employees and students for their continued support in overcoming the pandemic, which has contributed to the fact that we can now start a new semester with hope and confidence." Prof. Dr. Kratzsch, Rector
