Students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering use the Dies Academicus

Three students from the Faculty of Management and Economics took advantage of a workshop in Zittau to provide good advice to students.

As part of a joint workshop "Students advise students" (SbS), students from the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies visited the university in Zittau on Dies Academicus. A workshop on the topic of BaföG took place here on 6 June 2018.

The workshop was led by Matthias Baldt. He is a group leader in the Office for Educational Support at the Studentenwerk Dresden branch office on Hochwaldstraße in Zittau.

During the workshop, current regulations and requirements for applying for BaföG were explained. In this way, future SbS students will be able to answer any questions that future students may have in the coming weeks. Complicated questions can be forwarded directly to knowledgeable employees.

Following the workshop, our three Görlitz SbS students took the opportunity to exchange ideas with other students. The main focus was on increased transfer and good networking between the Zittau/Görlitz locations.

The visit to Zittau ended with a tour of the modern laboratory of the E/I faculty.

Motivated and equipped with new knowledge, they returned to the Görlitz site.

Here, a guest lecture by Andreas Reiter was already waiting for our students. He is a futurologist and head of the ZTB Zukunftsbüro in Vienna. The topic was "What comes, what goes, what stays: Economy and society in transition".

It was an exciting and varied Dies Academicus.

A big thank you goes to all participants/employees of the workshop. They helped to ensure that the event was very varied, with interesting insights and stimulating discussions.
