(Faster) reading, comprehension and retention

In this interactive workshop, you will learn to read more effectively using reading techniques and practise using memory techniques.

Students and academics often have to read a lot, which takes up more time than necessary. In this module, participants learn special reading techniques to help them memorize faster and remember more at the same time. The course consists of many practical exercises and tests that participants can try out and use in the future. Reading is a complex cognitive process. Some reading techniques such as SQR, SQ3R, SQ4R, rational reading, productive and reproductive reading and others are presented and practiced, and there are many memorization techniques. During the interactive workshop, participants will learn, for example, how to use a mind map as a reading note, what mnemonics are and how they can be used during reading to memorize content. Participants will also find out which learning type they prefer (visual, haptic, auditory or communicative).
