The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is looking to fill a part-time position (30 hours/week) in the Department of Studies and International Affairs at the earliest possible date as a

Admission Office and Student Advisory Service Clerk (m/f/d)
- Reference: 04-2025 DSI ZASB -

to be filled for a limited period until 31.12.2026.

The job holder has the following tasks in particular:

  • Advising prospective students and applicants in person or virtually, public appearances in German and in English (e.g. fairs, HIT),
  • Advising students (e.g. when changing degree programmes, organizational questions or challenges),
  • Processing student applications, enforcing enrolment regulations including foreign applicants,
  • Collaboration with the AG sächsischer Studienberater,
  • relieving the examination office in the area of organizational and administrative support, communication with students and lecturers, documentation and archiving.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed university studies related to the above-mentioned area of responsibility,
  • strong communication skills and enjoyment of contact with prospective and current students,
  • experience in the field of counseling or public relations,
  • fluency in English and knowledge of other languages if necessary,
  • intercultural skills,
  • confidence in using MS Office and common communication tools.

The following are also desirable

  • Professional experience in a university context and good knowledge of university-specific structures and processes or in the area of administrative processes in general,
  • Knowledge of the special features of the admission of international students, in particular students from colleges (e.g. Saxon Higher Education Act, ZAB, BAMF),
  • Affinity for digital tools and media,
  • Experience in event management,
  • Experience in working with authorities,
  • Experience in dealing with different stakeholder groups and world views.

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 9b TV-L. The 1st place of work is Zittau.
