With level and pleasure through the isolation

Find out how to get through the isolation with pleasure.

Dear readers,

With the start of another week of isolation and working from home, we have set ourselves the task of introducing our saviors of the past few weeks in this blog entry. These include recipes, newspapers and podcasts that have accompanied us through the past month.

The whole thing is rounded off with the opportunity to take part in oursurveywhich we created for you as part of the Product Management module.

Our isolation highlights - it's the little things in everyday coronavirus life

Starting with the enjoyment highlights, it was important to us in times of Corona to simply bring the cafés and bars we like to visit to our homes. So it's no surprise that we also tried our hand at baking and bartending and want to share our highlights with you.

Our favorite drink for warm spring evenings: Lillet Wild Berry

Pour Lillet Blanc into a wine glass, fill with ice cubes and top up with lemonade. Add frozen wild berries and stir.

Ingredients:

  • 5cl Lillet Blanc
  • 10cl lemonade
  • (Schweppes Russian Wild Berry)
  • Frozen wild berries

The perfect refreshment for in between: Citrus-mint lemonade

Bring sugar and 50 ml water to the boil, simmer for approx. 5 minutes and then leave to cool. Wash the citrus fruits in hot water, cut one in half and squeeze out the juice. Cut the rest of the lemons and limes into slices. Mix all the ingredients together in a jug.

Ingredients:

  • 50g sugar
  • 1/8 bunch mint
  • 1 ½ lemon
  • 1 ½ lime
  • 5g ginger
  • 1.5l mineral water

Our slice of childhood: marble cake

Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Mix the flour, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder, then add the sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, butter and cream and mix for 5 minutes. Divide the dough in half and mix one half with cocoa and a little milk. Pour the light and then the dark batter into the tin. Using a fork, gently pull the mixture through to create a marbled texture. Bake the cake for approx. 45 - 50 minutes in a fan oven and then leave to cool. Finally, the cake can be coated with chocolate coating or sprinkled with powdered sugar.

Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 300g flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 sachet baking powder
  • 250g sugar
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • 250g soft butter
  • 200g cream
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder

Time for food for thought and new ideas

In addition to enjoyment and a good mood, we believe that the gray cells should not be neglected. In the following division, we have listed a few options that can provide new stimuli and food for thought in an everyday life full of webinars and online meetings, or can be a pleasant balance.

Podcasts with expert opinion and brains

Our most listened to podcasts are "Treffpunkt: Zukunft" by the Zukunftsinstitut, "Business Punk - How to Hack" and "Baby got Business", which deal with long-term developments, tips for working life and the social media landscape, among other things. Each individual podcast has more to offer than just small talk and can also provide new impressions, learnings and food for thought.

Beloved apps, newspapers and online courses for new input

In addition to the newspaper "DIE ZEIT", which also offers student subscriptions, we would like to recommend the apps Good News and Blinkist. Good News is an app that only provides information about good news and thus represents a contrasting program to the current reporting. The Blinkist app, on the other hand, offers readers the key messages from a wide range of non-fiction books, allowing them to quickly and easily obtain information and further their education. In terms of acquiring new skills, we would also like to mention Coursera. Coursera.org offers a variety of courses that are accessible free of charge. The courses are offered by universities such as Yale, Stanford or Duke and deal with topics such as business, computer science, health and information technology.

Now it's your turn!

Last but not least, we would once again like to invite you to take part in oursurveyregarding the ice rink at the Wenzelsmarkt.

It won't take long to answer the questions and would really help us.
