In the creative atmosphere of the "Unbezahlbarlounge" in Görlitz, students from the "Culture and Management" course at the Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies developed exciting concepts for the revitalization of the Storchenturm in Weißkeißel. This workshop is part of the "Creativity" module, which combines theory and practice and offers students the opportunity to apply their knowledge directly.
To find ideas, the students used the Walt Disney method, a proven technique that promotes creative thinking through role-playing and changing perspectives. This method consists of three phases: dreaming, planning and criticizing, whereby innovative and practical solutions to complex challenges are developed.
Under the guidance of Prof. Hosang and with the support of ENO employee Saskia Brosius, the participants developed proposals on how the Storchenturm could be used as a cultural meeting place that hosts events, exhibitions and educational initiatives. The students learned how to systematically develop and evaluate creative ideas.
The collaboration with the ENO not only provided the space for the workshop, but also underlines the importance of partnerships between the university and regional development organizations.
The initiative impressively demonstrates how creative teaching methods can be used to promote realistic and innovative solutions for regional cultural work. The Storchenturm has the potential to become a lively center of cultural exchange in Weißkeißel. Further steps and final projects will be discussed and developed further in a subsequent workshop on May 28.
