At the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, within the framework of the BMBF-funded project ":Enviroplast - Development of novel thermoset semi-finished products from regional agricultural residues" - RUBIN - subject to the provision of funds, a position (40 hours/week) is available as of 01.11.2023 as a

"Research assistant (m/f/d) - Keyword: RUBIN designer -

to be filled for a limited period until 31.10.2026.

The aim of the above-mentioned project is to make a scientific contribution to a clean, decarbonized future based on sustainable technical plastic parts.

The position includes the independent processing of research tasks in the above-mentioned project, in particular

  • Research and development in the field of new components and process technologies for natural fiber reinforced plastics and bioplastics,
  • Construction and design of components and structures made of natural fiber-reinforced plastics (NFRP),
  • Development and commissioning of systems and tools for processing NFRP,
  • Close collaboration with cooperation partners from industry and science,
  • Attendance at international specialist events (trade fairs, conferences, etc.) for scientific exchange and publication of research results.

 

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed scientific university degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, materials engineering or comparable,
  • fluency in written and spoken English.

 

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Practical experience
    • in process and plant development
    • in project management and research paper,
    • in the preparation of scientific papers, documentation and presentation of research results,
    • in the acquisition of projects and
    • In the guidance of team members.

If the personal requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L. The first place of work is Zittau.
