On 21.04.2018, the central graduation ceremony of our university will take place for the eighth time. Central means that the invited Bachelor's, Diplom and Master's graduates from all degree programs and both locations will be bid farewell together. In a festive setting and usually in the presence of their proud families, the graduates are released into their new phase of life by representatives of the faculties and with a small gift from the HSZG.
The ceremony is accompanied by a musical program, which will also highlight the festive occasion this year. As part of the central exmatriculation ceremony, the HSZG's support association will award prizes to the best graduates and students of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
The second highlight of the day is the joint naming of the graduates' tree in the student park. This was planted in 2009 on the open space on the corner of Kantstraße and Hochwaldstraße on the initiative of the Student Council. At that time, the first 15 trees were planted together with the mayor of Zittau, the rectors and the student council. Since then, 24 new trees have been added. This means that on April 21, the 40th tree will green the student park. For the fifth time, hundreds of green balloons will decorate the Zittau sky, with which the graduates can send their wishes and dreams.
The day will be rounded off with the Graduates' Ball, which will take place in the evening and will see partying and dancing well into the night. For the second time, the Graduates' Ball will take place in the Zittauer Volkshaus at Äußere Weberstraße 6.
