Going to college isn’t just about studying. College is a distinct phase of life with entirely new privileges and challenges, and it often permeates every aspect of your life. The HSZG is here to support you, dear students, throughout your entire college experience—and especially as you settle into this new, often initially overwhelming phase of life.

Through a tightly woven network of counseling and support services, we’re here to catch anyone who might stumble while taking their first steps through the still-unknown landscape of college life. In addition to the “Come-in Weeks”—including their preparatory courses and get-to-know-you events—the “Wir-für-Euch” event has also been an important part of the orientation program in recent years. At these events, all the university’s representatives for counseling, support, and additional services have always introduced themselves in person.

To ensure that our new students don’t have to miss out on “Wir-für-Euch” despite challenging and restrictive circumstances, the HSZG’s counseling, support, and additional services have now been compiled into a single video. This also has the added benefit that students can easily refresh their memory of these services at any time and as needed with just a click:

The services presented here have been supporting our students for many years. They help students find solutions to difficult life situations and enable all students to succeed in their studies, regardless of external circumstances. This also has an impact on the number of early disenrolments (from university), which—thanks in part to the counseling and support network—is significantly below the national average.
