On 10.11.2020, the university informed interested representatives from hospitals and care facilities in the region about the new Bachelor's degree course in Görlitz.
Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences wants to qualify school leavers with a university entrance qualification for the highly complex nursing profession with its new "B.Sc. in Nursing" Bachelor's degree course.
The new tuition-free course was presented to the public on November 10, 2020. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this took place as part of a virtual event for interested representatives from hospitals and care facilities in the region who can imagine being available to the university as practice partners, i.e. as academic teaching institutions.
What is special about the new degree course is that it is not aimed at nurses who already have professional qualifications, but at school leavers. It also integrates the vocational training courses in pediatric nursing, nursing and geriatric nursing into a single degree course and is therefore compliant with the requirements of the new Nursing Professions Act, which came into force nationwide in January 2020.
You can find more information about the new degree course here.
The course is part of the Faculty of Management and Cultural Studies at the HSZG on the Görlitz campus. The person responsible for the course, Prof. Dr. Martin Knoll, will be happy to provide further information at pflege(at)hszg.de.
