The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is introducing KIAdirekt, a particularly practice-oriented IT course.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is launching a new KIA format in the coming winter semester. The dual study program KIAdirekt takes into account the increasing demand in companies for IT specialists.
"Companies are particularly looking for IT graduates who also have the necessary company-specific process knowledge. The students acquire this knowledge during the course of their studies in special courses at the HSZG and during the lecture-free period, in the internship and the Bachelor's thesis in the respective company," explains Prof. Frank Worlitz, Dean of the Faculty, this special form of cooperation with companies.
In addition to a monthly salary, the fact that graduates are taken on after successfully completing their studies is an attractive aspect for potential applicants.
LEAG is the first company to take this joint path with the HSZG and delegate the first two students to study computer science in Görlitz. Prior to this, a cooperation agreement between LEAG and HSZG was signed in a ceremony at the LEAG headquarters in Cottbus. The participation of two members of the Group's Executive Board demonstrates the great importance that LEAG attaches to the start of this new cooperation.
In the meantime, similar agreements have been concluded with a number of companies from the region. KIAdirekt could thus become another successful form of practice-oriented study in the "KIA family".
