Club summit as a starting signal

Since 2018, the Dreiländereck Adult Education Center and the HSZG have been collaborating on the Saxony5 project. The goal is to make the university’s knowledge and research accessible to “non-students” as well—to all citizens of the region. In this field, the Adult Education Center is, of course, an institution that enjoys recognition and a wealth of experience.

This year’s collaboration kicked off on Saturday with the “Association Summit.” Why an event for associations? Because they’re home to active, open-minded, and inquisitive people who, in turn, can use all the support they can get. As part of the collaboration with the Adult Education Center, a joint event series titled “Citizens Meet Science” will also begin in the second half of 2019.

Sophie Herwig from the HSZG’s public relations department attended the Club Summit, introduced participants to the possibilities of the social media world, and then gave a very practical explanation of how Instagram works. In addition, established experts such as Matthias Daberstiel (topic: fundraising) and Dr. Stefan Meyer (topic: networking) shared their knowledge. But there was also time set aside for participants to exchange experiences and for them to ask the speakers questions and offer suggestions.

The remarkably diverse range of participants, the event—which was sold out to the last seat—and the truly high-caliber speakers made for a delightful experience. Rene Seidel from the VHS handled the organization—many thanks to him.
