Personnel development at the HSZG

HSZG further expands personnel development and thus increases its own role model effect in the region.

The introduction of personnel development that strengthens the organization and promotes staff development continues to be both an important field of action and a challenge at universities and colleges.

Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is making great strides in this area, as the recently concluded negotiations on the target agreement with the SMWK for the years 2017-2020 upgraded the development of a personnel development concept to an overarching goal. A goal that those responsible at the university have had in mind for some time.

For the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, staff development focuses on ensuring and developing the quality of teaching and research, ensuring and increasing staff satisfaction and promoting young talent.

The first good steps towards stronger staff development are already in place:

  • a flexible working time model and
  • regular employee-supervisor meetings have been introduced;
  • internal training programs and home office models have also been
  • home office models are in the trial phase.

A university-wide regulation on company qualification measures is in the works. In 2017, the focus will be on workplace health promotion and workplace integration and will be expanded into a workplace health management system in the medium term.

Other areas of action for future personnel development include supporting organizational change processes with regard to task and structural analyses, personnel planning, recruitment and qualification, as well as intensifying personnel services.

In order to support this newly gained complex of tasks, the Rectorate has assigned a part-time position to the Human Resources Administration and Legal Affairs Department to establish sustainable personnel development for the central services and support processes at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
