New student advisors

Five new SbS teams start their voluntary work and a varied workshop program.

This year, the "Diversity as Strength" project area of the Student Advisory Service has recorded the highest increase in committed students, who are starting their qualification as student advisors this week and will advise, accompany and support new students in the coming semester. As every year, an extensive and varied program of workshops and seminars on various topics of student and academic life awaits the students. In (almost) all degree programs, 66 students provide orientation, answer questions, help with difficulties in their studies and support with personal problems. After successfully completing the workshops and regular team meetings, students receive a certificate from the university and a personal reference for their CV.

SbS (Students Advise Students) students are now actively involved in shaping campus, faculty and student life at both campuses. As statutory working groups of the student councils, they are the first point of contact for students in their first semester - and beyond. They provide support with questions about study content, study organization and everyday study life - but also help with individual questions and challenges, provide orientation and support during difficult phases of study. They also pass on their experience, tips and tricks to the next younger generation - on a voluntary basis. They also act as an interface between advice and support services inside and outside the university and as helpers at university information days, cultural student events, for their own projects and offers, as well as mediators for lecturers, professors and other university members.

Eight students also support another of the project area's services as campus specialists. They advise prospective students and school pupils, help out at events with schools, look after the chat and mailbox and provide support, including attending fairs. These students also volunteer to support interested potential students at the university alongside their studies.
