Take part: INCLUSION EXPERIENCE DAYS

For the first time, the INCLUSION EXPERIENCE DAYS will take place on the Görlitz campus from June 13–21, 2018.

The aim of these experience days is to raise awareness about inclusion at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. To ensure that people with disabilities or (temporary) impairments can study or work just like anyone else, appropriate conditions and behaviors are necessary. During the event, you’ll have the chance to experience participation firsthand. See for yourself to what extent our everyday university life (classes, exams, rooms, buildings, etc.) is accessible and supports the kind of inclusion outlined in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

In addition, the INCLUSION EXPERIENCE DAYS will be rounded out with presentations and discussions on the Görlitz campus. The information booth in front of the student canteen will be staffed throughout the entire period from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We look forward to seeing active students and staff and hearing your suggestions for our inclusive HSZG! Just come join us.

Program:

Every day from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., simulation materials that help participants experience disabilities firsthand can be borrowed at the information booth near the student canteen.

Thursday, June 14, 3:30–5:00 p.m.: Moderated discussion on the topic “Inclusion—how can I help ensure successful participation at HSZG?” (with sign language), Location: GI, Room 0.26

Tuesday, June 19, 2:00–3:00 p.m.: “From Professional Soccer Player to Long-Term Care Patient. My Journey Back. Experiences and Strategies for Inclusive Higher Education” Manuel Rees, B.A. graduate of HSZG, currently a master’s student at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen | Communications and Cultural Management, Location: GI, Auditorium

Wednesday, June 20, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.: Presentations with discussion. Location: G I, Auditorium
