Art project "The Art of Inclusion"

On March 18 and 19, 2017, the art project “The Art of Inclusion” with Ms. Gee Vero took place at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences as part of the Special Needs Education/Inclusion Studies degree programme. On Friday, Gee Vero spoke about her life as a person on the autism spectrum. She offered insight into her world through her own perspective. On Saturday, things got creative. She encouraged the students to get creative themselves—without worrying about how others might perceive them. She launched the “The Art of Inclusion” project six years ago. Learn more here. The results of the weekend are on display in the foyer of Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in room G1.

However, the project continues for anyone interested: Anyone can still take a sheet of paper from the foyer and add to it. The only important thing here is that everyone remains true to themselves. There is no right or wrong—everyone should be authentic. Ms. Vero’s encouraging message: “What someone says about my artwork says nothing about me or my artwork, but only something about the viewer.”
