Saxon universities present themselves in interactive online courses. The HSZG is taking part this week!
The six-week free online course "ImageSOOC" (Saxon Open OnlineCourse), in which - similar to a lecture series - a Saxon university presents itself in each course week, has been launched.
The following six Saxon universities will present themselves in the course weeks:

"In the course of the course, we will show which degree programmes are available at the individual Saxon universities, how everyday student life is organized and what student life is like at each location," says Marlen Dubrau, organizer of the course. "The online format offered familiarizes high school graduates and all prospective students with the educational opportunities and everyday life at the respective university, offers exemplary tasks that reflect the requirements of the degree programmes and enables contact with students and graduates who are already enrolled," she explains. Over a period of six weeks, the course participants develop an overview of the courses on offer and the requirements of Saxon universities. The learning materials range from lecture recordings and live chats with students to interviews with graduates and self-tests.
The main focus of the course is to enable participants to assess whether the university and the courses presented are of interest to them and whether their own skills profile is suitable as a prerequisite for applying to the relevant Saxon university. The target group is thus actively supported in finding their way through the multitude of options and courses on offer. No prior knowledge is required for participation. It is also possible to participate in the course at a later date, as the participants themselves decide which content they would like to work on, when and where, and to what extent.
Project background:
The "ImageSOOC" project is part of the SMWK-funded joint project "Videocampus
Saxony", which is coordinated by the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and aims to establish a
Saxony-wide video portal for the universities.
Following successful piloting, the ImageSOOC format is to be gradually adapted to the needs of prospective students at the university location.
