The world-famous Czech marionettes Hurvinek and Spejbl will play an important role in the next Kinder Academy. As role models, they will meet a lynx, a black grouse, a blue-winged blue butterfly, a salmon, and a bat, which represent various habitats such as forests, mountains, meadows, bodies of water, and caves.
Through this innovative approach, the children will be made aware of the importance of sustainable habitat development as well as nature conservation and environmental protection. This Kinder Academy is organized by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Christa Heidger and Diplom-Ing.(FH) Felix Eschrich.

This major lecture event in the Audimax of the Peter-Dierich Building also marks a highlight in the final phase of a scientific project in the field of German-Czech environmental education. The project was led by biologist Christa Heidger, a professor in the Ecology and Environmental Protection program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Since 2014, project staff member Felix Eschrich, a graduate of the Ecology and Environmental Protection program, has been visiting various preschools and elementary schools in the Görlitz district.
