Roll the movie!

23 Year 10 students from Evangelisches Zinzendorf-Gymnasium Herrnhut filmed in some of the university's laboratories on Tuesday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 9. Under the guidance of the Saxon Training and Testing Channel Görlitz (SAEK), the pupils produced short video podcasts on the following topics:

• The king of dyes (indigo) - or how do you dye a pair of jeans?
• Inorganic chemistry: "Performing show experiments yourself" (chemistry is when it smokes and stinks and amazes others)
• Physical effects at high voltage - high-voltage hall
• How is fog formed? - Thermodynamics of humid air
• Sound and vibrations

After the students familiarized themselves with the topics and locations on Tuesday, on Wednesday they filmed their 30 Year 11 classmates and their experiences on their "Studieren probieren" day.

Then, on Thursday and Friday, the film snippets from the five camera teams were combined into several films. The SAEK team supported the students in this process. The aim is to upload the short films to the university's YouTube channel. The video podcasts will then be available there at any time, e.g. for school lessons and public relations work.

The public presentation of the films and an award ceremony for the participating students by the Förderverein der Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz e. V. is planned for the Open University Day in Zittau on June 4 in the morning. The films will then be shown to the public in the Audimax and honored accordingly.
