Cooperation partner from Kostroma/Russian Federation visits Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences
The application criteria for the "Erasmus+worldwide" program are demanding in terms of quality and the time required to submit an application is considerable. The joy was correspondingly great when the funding approval arrived a few weeks ago:
For the funding of future staff and student mobilities in Russia and Kazakhstan, the HSZG was granted around 80,000 euros by the DAAD's national agency for a total of 25 mobilities up to 2018.
Thanks to Erasmus+ worldwide, the first guests from Kostroma State University have now been welcomed. Prof. Denisov, Professor of Integrated Management, and Ms. Rassmagina from the International Office of the partner university were impressed by the university facilities after a tour of the campus. The current discussions with Prof. Jana Brauweiler primarily focused on the expansion of the double degree program in Integrated Management, which was concluded between the two universities in September 2014 and through which the first students are to complete one or two semesters of study abroad at our university from the 2017/2018 academic year. There are plans for a German student to spend the summer semester of 2017 in Kostroma as part of the Master's semester. Thanks to the active support of Nikita Kozychev, a Kazakh student on the Integrated Management course at our university, and Frank Schneider, Studium Fundamentale, a successful supporting program was organized for the guests, including a city tour in Zittau, a hike up Mount Oybin followed by dinner in the Czech Republic and a visit to Dresden.
Applications to the European Union's Erasmus+ program can be submitted annually and independently of subject groups and, with a few exceptions and budget restrictions, are possible until 2020 (end of the Erasmus+ period). The central objective with regard to student mobility is the mutual recognition of academic achievements at the partner universities.
ERASMUS+ is the European Union's action program for cross-border cooperation in Europe for the period 2014 - 2020. It combines the previous programs for lifelong learning, youth and sport as well as programs for the higher education sector. In Germany, the program is coordinated by the National Agency for EU Higher Education Cooperation at the DAAD.
