New contribution to spatial sensitivity in migration research
How can migration research be made spatially sensitive? Jan Schaller, research associate in the Elitenmonitor project and member of the TRAWOS Institute, addresses this question together with other authors in a recent article on sozialraum.de together with other authors. Under the title "Space-sensitive research in migration research", the team of authors shows why space - understood as a social, political and everyday category - is more than just the background to life stories. Rather, spaces, such as neighborhoods or regions, directly influence the experiences, participation and belonging of migrants. The article combines theoretical considerations with methodological approaches and provides important impulses for differentiated, critically-reflective migration research.
