The interdisciplinary conference "Contested Education - On the Interweaving of Education, Gender, Nation and Citizenship" on November 28, 2025 at Justus Liebig University Giessen will shed light on central questions of political and civic education in a historical context. Cornelia Müller will provide valuable impulses with her lecture "Kinderfreundebewegung und Kinderrepubliken". The conference is part of the project "Negotiations of gender in discourses on civic education and political education in the German Empire and the Weimar Republic" and brings together different perspectives on educational discourses and their social significance.
