For the 9th time, the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, the Allgemeine Unternehmerverband Zittau und Umgebung e.V., the Dresden Chamber of Crafts and the Zittau and Görlitz offices of the Dresden Chamber of Industry and Commerce are inviting you to "Business meets Science" at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
This year's motto "Energy transition - oh what? My electricity comes from the socket!" promises an exciting evening in the truest sense of the word.
The welcome address will traditionally be given by the Vice-Rector for Research, Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Tobias Zschunke. He will look back on milestones in the research activities of university lecturers in 2017.
In his keynote speech , Thomas Hörtinger will report on cooperation between business and science. The Head of Technical Power Plant Management at LEAG (Lausitz Energie Kraftwerke AG and Lausitz Energie Bergbau AG) will talk about the challenges facing energy suppliers in Lausitz from an energy and socio-political perspective as well as the interrelationship between conventional and renewable energy and will provide an exciting explanation of LEAG's future fields.
In two further lectures, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Schmidt from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science' and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Alexander Kratzsch from IPM will present the current state of research into innovative technologies for energy storage and the design of electrical supply networks.
During the subsequent visit to the electrical engineering training laboratories, guests will be able to observe current flows with the naked eye - electricity you can touch, so to speak. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity for an informal exchange of ideas.
