The Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences is seeking to fill a 0.5 FTE (20 hours/week) position in the Faculty of Business Administration and Engineering Management as soon as possible for a fixed-term
to serve as a substitute for a professorship in Business Administration,
specifically in Production Management and Logistics (W2)

for the duration of the incumbent’s leave of absence, but no later than February 28, 2030.
The position holder specializes in “Business Administration, particularly Production Management and Logistics,” with a specific focus on:
- General business studies for all stages of a company’s value chain,
- Digital technologies & application-oriented process and project management, AI applications in business processes,
- Operational and strategic production and logistics management, production planning and control, including associated software for simulation and implementation, lean management,
- Production control / industrial management, materials management, and supply chain management.
These topics are to be covered in lectures, seminars, exercises, internships, and projects, as well as in continuing education programs. The candidate is expected to have the ability and willingness to familiarize themselves with and teach other fields related to their area of expertise. The teaching units must be available university-wide. Classes / courses may also be taught in English as needed. Furthermore, the ability and willingness to participate in integrative, practice-oriented, and internship-related teaching units are required.
If necessary, the candidate must be willing to teach classes / courses related to the field of specialization.
In addition, the candidate is expected to actively contribute to the internationalization of the university and the further development of the department, as well as to assume responsibilities in academic self-governance. Furthermore, commitment to applied research projects and to technology and knowledge transfer is expected.
The following knowledge and skills are required
- a successfully completed academic degree at the university level related to the above-mentioned field,
- a demonstrated aptitude for scholarly work,
- experience in applied research and knowledge transfer,
- ideally, teaching experience at the university level or in continuing education.
- In filling this position, particular emphasis will be placed on practical experience.
