At the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz (HSZG), Institute for Health, Ageing, Work and Technology (GAT), within the framework of the project "Well Care - Investing in the mental wellbeing and resilience of long-term care workers and informal carers through the identification, evaluation and promotion of good practices across Europe" funded by the European Union in the Horizon Europe research program, a part-time position (34 hours/week) is available at the earliest possible date as a

Research Associate "EU-Horizon - Well Care" - (m/f/d) - Keyword: - Well Care -

to be filledfor a limited period until 31.12.2027.

The aim of the above-mentioned project is to identify, test and evaluate conditions for successful care in Europe and to promote successful models throughout Europe. The project is led by Prof. Elizabeth Hanson (Linnaeus University, Sweden). In addition to Sweden, partners from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Slovenia are represented. The consortium consists of one research institution and one nursing association in each country. Four European nursing associations are also taking part in the project.

The project focuses on the perspective of caregivers and their long-term health, and takes an equal look at professional care and family caregivers. Well Care pursues four central questions:

  • Providing data and knowledge on how best to promote resilience and mental wellbeing in caregivers,
  • Identification of innovative solutions and prototypes: 5-8 prototypes will be implemented and tested together with practice partners in the 5 European countries mentioned above. The project accompanies these with the aim of integrating them into the respective local, regional and national environment.
  • The development of evidence-based and practice-oriented recommendations for action for political decision-makers (based on this project and other sources).
  • Development, implementation and sustainable establishment of a continuous research and co-design process with users and practice partners at national level through blended learning networks.

The position includes in particular the following tasks

  • Preparation of the review of the research project by an ethics committee,
  • Literature review of examples of good practice to improve the resilience and well-being of caregivers in Germany,
  • Preparation, implementation and evaluation of qualitative interviews,
  • Documentation and evaluation of blended learning network meetings and focus group interviews,
  • Derivation, development and analysis of innovative solutions / prototypes to improve the resilience and well-being of caregivers in Germany,
  • Derivation of evidence-based recommendations for action,
  • Close cooperation with the German practice partner in the joint project Wir pflegen e.V.,
  • Participation and networking in the overall European network of Well Care,
  • Scientifically sound evaluation of results and documentation,
  • Reporting, public relations and scientific dissemination.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed scientific university degree, preferably in social or nursing sciences, gerontology, psychology or related disciplines,
  • Preferably a doctorate,
  • Proven expertise in scientific work and scientific communication in German and English,
  • sound knowledge and research experience in the field of nursing sciences and/or social gerontology on the subject of informal and formal care,
  • business fluent in written and spoken English,
  • experience in knowledge and technology transfer and networking,
  • confident appearance, convincing charisma and negotiating skills
  • Communication skills, creativity and interdisciplinary thinking.

A current extended police clearance certificate is required for the recruitment process in order to fulfill the recruitment formalities in accordance with the current guidelines of the Saxon State Ministry of Culture. Remuneration is paid up to pay group 13 TV-L if the personal requirements are met. The first place of work is Görlitz.
