Research Associate "EU-Horizon - Well Care" - (m/f/d) - Keyword: Well Care -

The aforementioned project aims to identify, test, and evaluate the conditions for success in nursing care in Europe and to promote successful models across Europe. The project is led by Prof. Elizabeth Hanson (Linné University, Sweden). In addition to Sweden, partners from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Slovenia are represented. In each country, the consortium consists of one research institution and one nursing advocacy group. Four European nursing associations are also participating in the project.

The project focuses on the perspectives of caregivers and their long-term health, and it gives equal consideration to both professional caregivers and family caregivers. Well Care addresses four central questions:

• Providing data and knowledge on how to promote caregivers’ resilience and mental well-being in a good way,
• Identifying innovative solutions and prototypes: 5–8 prototypes will be implemented and tested in collaboration with practice partners in the five European countries mentioned above. The project will support these efforts with the goal of integrating the prototypes into their respective local, regional, and national contexts.
• Developing evidence-based and practice-oriented recommendations for policymakers (based on this project and other sources).
• Development, implementation, and sustainable establishment of a continuous research and co-design process with users and practice partners at the national level through blended learning networks.

In particular, the position involves the following tasks:

• Preparing the research project for review by an ethics committee,
• Conducting a literature review of examples of good practices for improving the resilience and well-being of caregivers in Germany,
• Preparation, conduct, and evaluation of qualitative interviews,
• Documentation and evaluation of Blended Learning Network meetings and focus group interviews,
• Deriving, developing, and analyzing innovative solutions and prototypes to improve the resilience and well-being of caregivers in Germany,
• Derivation of evidence-based recommendations for action,
• Close collaboration with the German practice partner in the joint project Wir pflegen e.V.,
• Participation and networking within the overall European Well Care consortium,
• Scientifically sound evaluation and documentation of results,
• Reporting, public relations, and scientific dissemination.

The following knowledge and skills are required

• A completed academic degree, preferably in social sciences, nursing, gerontology, psychology, or related disciplines,
• preferably a Ph.D.,
• demonstrated expertise in scientific work and science communication in German and English,
• in-depth knowledge and research experience in the field of nursing sciences and/or Social Gerontology on the topic of informal and formal care,
• fluency in spoken and written English,
• experience in knowledge and technology transfer and in networking,
• a confident demeanor, persuasive presence, and strong negotiation skills,
• communication skills, creativity, and interdisciplinary thinking.
