The "Study Success KOM³" project at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences (HSZG) aims to increase student success through the targeted promotion of study, digital and problem-solving skills. The focus is on innovative, interdisciplinary learning arrangements that prepare students from all disciplines for the demands of the digital transformation. The core objective is to reduce dropouts, promote equal opportunities and remove barriers to accessing educational opportunities. A particular focus of the project is the implementation of adaptable learning formats that can be flexibly adapted to individual learning needs and promote basic digital skills. The project thus contributes to sustainably securing the demand for skilled workers in Saxony and supports the regional economy by training digitally competent graduates.

The "Challenged Based Learning Events" sub-project develops and establishes interdisciplinary, challenge-based learning events (CLE) to prepare students for the digital working world in a practical way and to promote data-based skills. The focus is on interdisciplinary, CSS-oriented formats that promote problem-solving skills and thus contribute to innovation and securing skilled workers in the long term.

The position includes the following tasks in particular:

  • Design, implementation and evaluation of interdisciplinary, challenge-based learning events with a focus on data-based problem solving in the context of computational social science,
  • Development and testing of didactic scenarios to promote data literacy & digital methodological competence,
  • Supporting the project management in implementing the innovative teaching formats developed
  • Collaboration with teachers and students from all departments,
  • Documentation, dissemination and further development of the project content.

The following knowledge and skills are required

  • Completed academic degree (Master's or equivalence) in a relevant subject (e.g. sociology, political science, educational research, data science, computer science),
  • Sound knowledge of social science methods (data collection and data analysis)
  • Ability to work on projects independently, in a structured and cooperative manner,
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in German or English,
  • Initial experience in a university didactic context.

In addition, the following are desirable

  • Knowledge in the field of computational social science or big data,
  • Experience in project management.

If the personal and professional requirements are met, remuneration will be paid up to pay group 13 TV-L. The 1st place of work is Görlitz.
