At the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Managerial and Cultural Studies, as part of the introduction of new nursing degree programs, a position (initially 20 hours per week) is available as

Lecturer with a Specified Function (m/f/d) – Nursing Practice with a Focus on Children –
– Reference: 02-2025 LfbA (4) –

is available.

The position specifically includes the following duties:

  • Classes / courses in the nursing modules or modules with a pediatric nursing component within the nursing degree programs, including clinical supervision pursuant to Section 38(3) of the Nursing Act (PflBG) and the state examination pursuant to Section 39 of the Nursing Act (PflBG), with a focus on pediatric nursing,
  • Contributing to the further development of the practical components of nursing degree programs, including the implementation of skills and SimLab sessions for pediatric nursing,
  • Coordinating and supervising students during clinical placements with a focus on pediatric nursing activities,
  • Providing information and advising prospective students about the degree programme and collaborating with clinical sites on the design of pediatric nursing modules,
  • Participating in public relations activities, e.g., attending trade shows and college information days, school events, creating informational materials, and similar tasks, as well as
  • Supporting the faculty’s research projects.

The following knowledge and skills are required:

  • a completed college degree programme in nursing, nursing education, medical education, or a comparable degree programme,
  • completed vocational training in a nursing profession in accordance with Section 1 of the Nursing Training Act (PflBG) as well as practical experience in nursing care,
  • proof of expertise in pediatric nursing,
  • pedagogical and didactic skills in teaching,
  • good written communication skills and an analytical mindset.

In addition, the following are desirable:

  • knowledge of and experience in university-level teaching methods,
  • experience and subject-matter expertise in current legal requirements for academic nursing education and degree programs (general nursing),
  • knowledge of simulated teaching (Skills/SimLab),
  • knowledge of university-related structures and processes,
  • experience in research, as well as
  • additional language skills.

Further information

Salary for employees covered by the collective bargaining agreement is set at Pay Grade 10 of the TV-L if the professional qualifications are met, and at Pay Grade 11 of the TV-L if the applicant holds a university degree in a scientific field. The primary place of work is Görlitz. A probationary period will be agreed upon.
