In the future, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences will do more for health by further developing existing health-promoting individual measures into a holistic occupational health management (OHM) system. Occupational health management encompasses all measures that maintain and promote the health and well-being of university staff. In order to establish such health management at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences in a sustainable and meaningful way, an overall strategic concept needs to be developed.
The topic of "health" is an important management task for the university management. In order to align the strategic development of occupational health management, the Rectorate has therefore set up a BGM working group under the leadership of the Chancellor.
Its members are
- Prof. Y. Stöbel-Richter (F-MK)
- Prof. M. Schmidt (F-S)
- Mr. P. Knebel (Head of the University Sports Centre)
- Mr. C. Duscha (Head of Human Resources and Legal Affairs)
- Mr. U. Hülle (Occupational Safety Specialist)
- Ms. I. Krusche (representative of the local staff council)
The BGM working group pursues the approach that occupational health management must combine occupational health and safety instruments with health promotion measures, occupational integration management and personnel and organizational development.

As a basis for the future design of occupational health management, an analysis of the current situation (survey) and its evaluation will provide information on the current health of university staff. To this end, the COPSOQ questionnaire (= Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire) for recording psychosocial factors in the workplace will be collected by the Freiburg Research Center for Occupational Sciences. The COPSOQ has already been used in many companies and institutions. The measurement qualities of this questionnaire as a screening instrument in the context of risk assessment have proven to be very good (see www.copsoq.de). The FFAW is the German reference center for the questionnaire. The evaluated data will be used to identify fields of action and derive meaningful BGM measures for you.
The university management therefore kindly asks you to complete the online questionnaire by 21. April 2017 .
All employees will receive the link to the questionnaire and the password for the protected website by email.
The questionnaires completed online will be entered anonymously directly into the FFAW database and each respondent will receive a personal online-feedback with a graphical comparison of his/her personal values with those of a reference group from the COPSOQ database (n > 200,000) immediately after completing the survey.
Participation in the survey is voluntary. All data collected will be treated in strict confidence and your anonymity will be strictly preserved. It is not possible to identify you personally in the course of the evaluations.
The results of the survey will be discussed in public at the university during the Health and Environment Days (29.05. - 02.06.2017) on June 1, 2017.
