Continuing Education While Working 2019
Solving problems and empowering colleagues to tackle problems in a solution-focused manner is an important leadership task. You can develop this skill and apply it in all areas of your professional and personal life. The “Solution-Focused Communication” training course teaches methods and approaches from the solution-focused brief therapy developed by Insoo Kim Berg and Steve de Shazer, which will enable you to make your conversations even more goal-oriented (see course content).

Dates
The continuing education program, totaling 60 instructional units, consists of two consecutive block sessions.
Part 1: March 11–13, 2019
Part II: April 1–3, 2019Each session runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the third day ending around 5 p.m.

Contents
Basics, attitude
- Basic assumptions and key strategies of the solution-oriented systemic approach
- Attitude: impartiality, neutrality, appreciation, curiosity, resource orientation
Methods of solution-oriented conversation with adults, children and young people
- Questioning techniques (resource-oriented questions, circular questions, reframing, paradoxical questions, scaling questions, hypothetical questions, questions about differences and exceptions, miracle questions)
- Dealing with order patterns (customer, visitor, complainant)
- Process design (problem and solution space; PELZ model: problem, explanations, attempted solutions, goals; coupling and leading; liquefying)
- Goals (defining good goals "SMART" - specific, measurable, accepted, realistic, time-bound)
Participants receive extensive teaching material and photo documentation.
