HighN
HochN - Joint project
From 2016 to 2020, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences collaborated with 10 other universities on the HOCH-N consortium project. The project was launched by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to further embed sustainability at universities. HOCH-N brings together experts with many years of experience in the fields of sustainability and education for sustainable development at universities. The results include a cross-university mission statement for a sustainable university, as well as guidelines for promoting and implementing sustainable development in the areas of sustainability reporting, governance, teaching, research, operations, and knowledge transfer.
DG HochN - German Society for Sustainability at Universities e.V.
The DG HochN supports the implementation of UNESCO’s “Education for Sustainable Development by 2030” program and is committed to the whole-institution approach. It also pursues the overarching goal of ensuring that sustainable development at universities—in line with the Sustainable Development Goals—becomes a visible and effective expression of their work in research, teaching, operations, governance, knowledge transfer, and reporting.
The DG HochN is intended to provide a solid foundation for the impact of the HochN, Virtual Academy for Sustainability, and netzwerk n projects, as well as other regional and local initiatives, and to further expand a sustainable higher education landscape.
HochN supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
