Many have been waiting a long time - and now the time has finally come: enrolment for the new cooperative study program secondary school teaching degree with special education can begin!
From the coming winter semester, future teachers in Zittau/Görlitz will be able to embark on an innovative teacher training course that combines academic training at Leipzig University with a strong practical component at Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences. Together, the two universities train teachers for secondary schools with a special educational focus on learning.
We are delighted that things are finally getting underway! With the new teacher training course, we are sending a strong signal for educational equality and the retention of skilled workers in the region. Together with the University of Leipzig, we are creating a practical course of study that breaks new ground in teacher training - directly in the three-country region and with great added value for society.
”Step 1: Start your application via the Leipzig University application portal for the secondary school teaching degree program with special education at the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences.
Tip: The easiest way to find the teaching degree program at the Zittau/Görlitz location is to enter "Staatsexamen Lehramt an Oberschulen HS Zittau-Görlitz" in the search criteria for the degree type in the application portal. You will then only be shown the teaching subjects that can be studied in Görlitz and Zittau.
Step 2: As soon as you have received your provisional enrolment certificate from the University of Leipzig, you can also register on the application portal of the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences for the degree program Secondary school teaching degree with special education enroll.
With these two steps, prospective students are doubly involved: as soon as they have successfully applied to Leipzig University and Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, they receive dual enrolment - and thus access to both universities. They will also receive a lot of additional information from both sides: on the organization of studies, on contact persons and, of course, on the start of studies at the Zittau/Görlitz location.
