Urban spaces are the scene of social change - this also applies to Ukraine, the EU's largest neighboring country. Five years after Euromaidan, profound problems such as corruption, economic oligarchy and the ongoing war in Donbas continue to hamper democratic development. However, civil society involvement has grown significantly in many cities.
On this occasion, KIEWER GESPRÄCHE is organizing the event "What happens when you do something where no one has done anything before" in Görlitz. Together with four activists from Dnipro, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk and Pervomaisk, we want to explore the importance of self-organized cultural spaces for city dwellers, the status of public space and vacancies as an opportunity for change and how cooperation between creative people and city administrations works - in Ukraine, but of course also in Germany.
The event will take place:
On 14.11.2018
When:
19:00
Where?
Aula (Blue Box) Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences, Görlitz Campus, Brückenstraße 1, House G1
Afterwards, we invite you to an informal discussion with the speakers over a small snack.
